§ Mr. LytteltonThere is at present no substantial unemployment in Malaya, but the Federation Government have plans to provide as much productive work as possible if serious unemployment develops. It is not yet administratively possible to introduce unemployment insurance but an important step has already been taken by the creation of an Employees Provident Fund.
