§ 61 and 62. Mr. Ness Edwardsasked the Assistant Postmaster-General (1) the names of the Working Party appointed by the Postmaster-General to examine the power and functions of the controlling body for commercial television;
(2) whether it is proposed to make available to hon. Members the Report of the Working Party which has been engaged upon the examination of the problems, powers, and functions of a supervisory body for the proposed commercial television.
§ 64. Mr. James Johnsonasked the Postmaster-General what was the cost involved in the preparation of the Working Party Report on Commercial Television and its supervision, which has been presented to the Postmaster-General.
§ Mr. GammansThe members of this Working Party were Post Office servants, acting in the course of their duties. No additional expense was therefore incurred in preparing the Report, and it would be contrary to custom to disclose their names. My noble Friend does not propose to publish this purely Departmental report.
§ 63. Mr. Ness Edwardsasked the Assistant Postmaster-General the date on which the Report of the Television Advisory Committee will be made available to hon. Members.
§ Mr. GammansAs I informed the House on 2nd April, I expect the Report to be presented by the end of this month or the beginning of May. My noble Friend hopes to make it available to hon. Members shortly after.
