asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he will consider equipping postmen on country rounds, especially those in hilly areas, with small motor attachments to their bicycles and thus ensure a more efficient delivery service.

The use of motor assisted pedal cycles has been considered on several occasions, but it has been concluded that they are not suitable for postal work.
