§ Mr. H. StraussThis is part of the Final Report of the Census of Production for 1948 and was presented to Parliament in pursuance of the Statistics of Trade Act, 1947. Six hundred and twenty-five copies were printed at a cost of £28. The staff engaged on the census dealt with 156 separate but inter-related trade reports, and it is impossible to say how many officials were engaged, or for how long, on any one of them. The census was the first complete survey of industrial production since 1935 and has provided information used by both Government and industry.
