§ Sir G. Hutchinsonasked the Minister of Health whether arrangements can now be made for the supply of cortisone in the treatment of persons suffering from rheumatic complaints.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to the hon. Member for Anglesey (Mr. C. Hughes) on 29th May. Controlled trials of cortisone in the treatment of rheumatic conditions are continuing, but I am advised that a considered opinion as to its efficacy is not yet possible. I hope, nevertheless, gradually to increase the quantities made available to the special hospital centres at which this drug is used.
