asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the average cost of police houses erected in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire, during the past three years.

The average of approved tenders for police houses since 1st November, 1949, is: Bedfordshire, £1,953; Buckinghamshire, £2,041; Hertfordshire, £1,791; Oxfordshire, £1,795.

These figures are affected by the dates at which the various tenders were approved and the number of houses included in each contract.
