§ Major Lloyd GeorgeThe 15-year Agreement with Australia links price changes to movements in costs of production. Under it we have agreed to pay 16.6 per cent. more for lamb and mutton and 20 per cent. more for most types of beef during the coming year. There will be no immediate effect on retail meat prices and these terms will be only one of the factors to be taken into account in fixing the future retail prices of subsidised foods.
