HC Deb 26 May 1952 vol 501 c92W
32. Mr. Beswick

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will enter into negotiations with the United States Government and other Governments concerned, with a view to securing that information collection by the United Nations Command about the views on repatriation of prisoners of war should not be used as propaganda material to the Chinese and Russians whilst truce talks on this point are still being held.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Her Majesty's Government are anxious that nothing should be said or done during the truce negotiations which would make the conclusion of an armistice more difficult. This view has been made known to the other Governments concerned and we believe that it is shared by them.
