For the greater part of its two years' service in operational conditions in Malaya, the Third Commando Brigade has been responsible for40W the security of the State of Perak in conjunction with the police. Troops have had ample opportunities to engage Communist bandits and have accounted for 172 bandits killed and 50 captured at a loss to themselves of 4 officers and 17 other ranks.
