62 and 63. Mr. J. T. Priceasked the Minister of Food (1) how many prosecutions have taken place under the Food Standards (Preserves) Order, 1944, in the 12 months ended 30th April, 1952; and with what results;
(2) how many sample tests have been taken by his officers and those of the administering authorities under the Food Standards (Preserves) Order, 1944, in the 12 months ended 30th April, 1952; and if he can give a report of their findings.
Dr. HillThe latest information relates to the year ended 31st December, 1951. Two thousand eight hundred and seventeen samples of preserves were analysed on behalf of local authorities in England and Wales. Of these 64 did not fully30W comply with the standards. One prosecution was undertaken and resulted in conviction.
§ 68. Mr. F. Willeyasked the Minister of Food what action he proposes to take on the Report of the Food Standards Committee on jam and marmalade.
