HC Deb 20 March 1952 vol 497 cc244-5W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Transport on what grounds he supported the application for a£11,200 building licence made by Messrs. Lamb, Woodford Avenue; and on what grounds his Department supported their two previous applications.

Mr. Maclay

Only one of the two earlier applications referred to was sponsored by my Department, and that application was supported because the regional transport commissioner was satisfied that the firm's existing premises were inadequate for their repair and maintenance work on commercial vehicles. The recent application for a further licence was sponsored because this work had expanded considerably.
