Mr. Baker White
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise have discontinued to collect auctioneers' 134W licences of £10 per year each and valuers' licences of £2 per year; and what is the loss to the Revenue as a result of this failure to collect.
§ Mr. Boyd-Carpenter
With certain other licence duties, these were abolished by the Finance Act, 1949. The annual yield of the whole group at the time of abolition was about £150,000.
