§ 106. Mr. Snowasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in the interests of increasing the exportable surplus of rice from Burma under the terms of the Colombo Plan, he will instruct the United Kingdom representative on its Consultative Committee to inquire into the possibility of steps being taken within the framework of the Colombo Plan to ascertain whether ploughing bullocks, suitable for paddy-field work, can be exported to Burma in order to rectify the shortage of these animals in that country due to the slaughter policy of the Japanese occupation troops.
