§ 71. Mr. C. S. Taylorasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury to what extent the psychological tests described in Section IV of the Memorandum by the Civil Service Commissioners on the use of the Civil Service Selection Board, 1951, are still in use for the examination and selection of candidates for the foreign and civil services; and whether it is intended to continue those methods.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterPsychological tests, which include intelligence tests, continue to form part of the selection procedure described in the Memorandum and it is the present intention to continue their use, as modified from time to time, during the experimental period.
As I told my hon. Friend on 20th November, one psychologist is employed on these duties.
