asked the Minister of Labour how many persons in the city of York at the last convenient date were registered as unemployed; how many such persons were registered as handicapped by disablement; and how many persons unemployed were shown by the latest available analysis to be in the age group of 56 years and over.

The total number of unemployed persons on the registers of York Employment Exchange and Youth Employment Office at 11th February, 1952, was 657, of whom 107 were registered under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act, 1944. The latest date 169W for which an age-analysis of unemployed persons is available is 10th December, 1951, when the number of persons aged 55 and over registered at York Employment Exchange was 104.
