Mr. Philips Priceasked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been called to the successful results achieved in the United States of America by the use of certain synthetic polymers in improving soil structure for agricultural and horticultural use and, in particular, of a synthetic poly-electrolyte, known as Krilium; and to what extent steps are to be taken to make use of these discoveries in Great Britain.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI am aware of the claims which have been made recently in the United States about the use of certain synthetic polymers, particularly Krilium, as soil improvers. The Agricultural Research Council are making inquiries and will give me their advice as soon as they can.
