HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 cc60-1W
117. Mr. I. O. Thomas

asked the Minister of Education if she is aware of proposals made by the Salop Education Committee, arising from her request for economies, to close four out of their total of six nursery schools, including those at Shrewsbury, Oakengates, Hodnet and Madeley, which would leave only two nursery schools in the whole county; and if she will refuse to sanction such proposals, which have stimulated public opposition and are contrary to the needs and desires of the inhabitants of the areas affected.

Miss Horsbrugh

I am seeking further information to enable me to consider these proposals on their merits.
