§ 70. Captain Soamesasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is satisfied that the weekly return, Form No. C190/S.S.Y., required to be completed by millers and corn merchants under the Corn Returns Act, 1882, still serves a useful purpose; and whether, in order to save time, labour and paper he will take steps to dispense with these returns.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI cannot take the action suggested without repeal or amendment of the Corn Returns Act, 1882. The number of markets from which information is required was reduced substantially in 1944, and I should be quite willing to consider any other ways of simplifying the procedure that were compatible with the Act.
