HC Deb 17 December 1952 vol 509 c226W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will ensure that part of the viewing facilities in his Department's offices on the Coronation line of route are reserved for Service men and disabled ex-Service men of the Commonwealth Forces to enable them to view the Coronation procession.

Mr. J. Foster

The general position as regards seating accommodation is that large numbers of seats have been allotted to the several Members of the Commonwealth and it is for each Government to decide how these should be allocated to persons from its country.

As regards disabled ex-Service men, however, such facilities as can be made available, for disabled persons for viewing the procession on some part of the route, will be open to those from other Commonwealth countries as well as the United Kingdom.
