§ 167. Mr. Woodburnasked the Minister of Transport whether he has formulated plans for the integration and coordination of road and rail transport in the case of a national emergency arising; and whether he has examined the possible handicaps which may arise from the proposed break-up of the nation-wide road service organisation now being developed.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydPlans for the operation and, if necessary, control of all forms of inland transport in the event of a national emergency have been prepared and are kept continuously under review; there is no reason to suppose that these measures would be handicapped by the proposed dispersal of the road haulage undertaking of the British Transport Commission.
