asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many Scottish planning authorities have now submitted their development plans to his Department; and how many have been approved.

Fifteen Scottish planning authorities have submitted development plans; 12 of these cover the whole of the local authorities' areas and three relate to parts of areas. I have approved with modifications one part plan.

(2) what was the labour force employed in the cutlery and silverware industries, respectively, in Sheffield on the nearest convenient date, and corresponding dates in each year since 1945.

Separate figures are not available for the cutlery and silverware industries, the former being included in a group entitled "Tools and Cutlery" and the latter in "Jewellery, Plate and Refining of Precious Metals."

Figures for these two groups, so far as they are available, are given in the table below:
