§ 53. Captain Ryderasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will alter the Police Pensions Regulations so that the widows of police officers and constables who died before 6th April, 1949, will be paid the same as those who die after that date.

Maxwell FyfeI have carefully considered this proposal in the light of further representations which have been made to me on behalf of these widows, but I regret that there is nothing I can add to the reply which I gave on 1st December to my hon. and learned Friend the Member for Ilford, North (Sir G. Hutchinson).
