HC Deb 04 December 1952 vol 508 c184W
Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary of State for War how many medical officers are in service at the military hospital at Trieste; and what was the average number of patients occupying beds in the last 12 months.

Mr. Head

Five medical officers are employed full-time in the British Military Hospital, Trieste, which caters for a military population of some 6,500. They are employed as medical specialist, surgeon, anæsthetist, specialist in obstetrics and gynæcology and general duty medical officer, respectively. There is also one medical officer who commands the hospital in addition to duties elsewhere. The average number of beds occupied during the past 12 months was 62.
