HC Deb 04 December 1952 vol 508 cc173-4W
92. Mr. Hardy

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that outpatients at eye hospitals have to pay one shilling each time they attend, where the bulk of the patients attend because of foreign matter in the eye sustained at their work; and if he will now modify this charge.

Mr. Iain Macleod

A charge is payable only for drugs or medicines taken away by out-patients, and not for those administered at the hospital. I am not aware that eye patients are at any special disadvantage in this respect.
