§ 52. Mr. Peter Freeman
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will instruct the Departmental Committee on the Statutory Definition and Classification of Firearms and Ammunition to reconsider the relevant provisions of the existing law which permits children under 17 years of age to purchase or have in their possession air pistols and other instruments which may be used to the public danger.
§ Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe
This Committee reported in 1934 and the present law on the subject is in accord with its recommendations. I am not aware of any grounds for reopening this question at the present time.
