HC Deb 28 November 1951 vol 494 cc156-7W
78. Mr. W. W. Astor

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many graduates of the present police college have been appointed to posts of chief constable.

Mr. Llewellyn

One, but it should be borne in mind that until this year courses at the college have been in the main confined to officers holding ranks outside the normal range of selection for appointment as chief constable.

79. Mr. W. W. Astor

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many graduates of the pre-war Hendon Police College have been appointed as chief constable.

Mr. Llewellyn
