HC Deb 20 November 1951 vol 494 cc36-7W
123. Mr. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what cuts are contemplated in the capital investment programme as outlined in the publication. "Plan for Coal."

Mr. Joynson-Hicks

As the Government's investment plans have not yet been drawn up, I am not able to make a statement on the future level of colliery investment. The need, however, for a high level of investment in the coal industry is fully appreciated by the Government, and the capital development at present being undertaken by the Board is not being retarded by any limitation on capital expenditure.
