HC Deb 31 May 1951 vol 488 c41W
60. Mr. W. R. Hudson

asked the Chancellor the Exchequer whether he is aware that the further recent increase in duty on petrol imposes a burden upon users of petrol-driven invalid carriages; and if he will take steps to permit such users to obtain supplies of petrol at concessionary rates.

Mr. Jay

The increase of 4½d. a gallon proposed in the Budget applies to all users of dutiable light oils, and I am afraid that it would not be practicable to single out particular classes of users for relief in the form of remission of duty.
