94. Mr. Philips Priceasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the world shortage of sulphur, steps are being taken to encourage economy in the use of sulphuric acid in the manufacture of agricultural fertilisers by the use of nitric acid instead.
§ Mr. RhodesThe Department of Scientific and Industrial Research have carried out experiments in the use of nitric acid in the production of phosphatic fertilisers and the industry have been informed of the results. The industry themselves have also been experimenting on similar lines.
