HC Deb 21 March 1951 vol 485 c299W
114. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning if, in view of the fire which occurred at Bucklebury Common hutted camp on 9th March when a baby was burned to death and the mother seriously burned, he will ensure that everything possible is done to minimise the exceptional fire risks in such hutted camps; and if he will allow local authorities a special building allocation to replace hutments that are considered unsafe on fire and general health grounds.

Mr. Lindgren

The attention of local authorities has already been drawn to the need for precautions against the risk of fire in hutted camps under their control and in the allocations made to them all factors are taken into account.
