§ Mr. P. Noel-BakerDingwall and Tain are supplied by rail direct, the average freight cost being about 22s. per ton. Shieldaig is supplied by merchants operating from the Strathcarron district where the rail head is located. The average rail freight to Strathcarron is about 25s. per ton.
