HC Deb 20 March 1951 vol 485 c257W
86. Mr. Awbery

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the difficulties being experienced in many towns in obtaining the necessary supplies of paper for the forthcoming municipal elections; and if he will arrange for an extra quota to the printers to be made in the municipalities for this purpose.

Mr. Bottomley

When the voluntary priority scheme for paper and boards was instituted three months ago, the necessity for making adequate supplies of paper available to all political parties for both national and local elections was impressed on the appropriate trade organisation, including the printers, and they have recently been reminded of the importance of this matter.
