HC Deb 15 March 1951 vol 485 c195W
74. Mr. Dryden Brook

asked the Minister of Education if he is aware of the attempt which is being made to use the headmasters of grammar schools for the dissemination of political propaganda, as illustrated by the leaflet which the Member for Halifax has sent to him; and what action he is taking in the matter.

Mr. Tomlinson

The leaflet in question was an invitation to teachers to join a teachers' political association. I am inflexibly opposed to any attempt by any party to use teachers for the dissemination of political propaganda in any school, but I cannot object on that ground to the sending of such a leaflet as this to a teacher.
