HC Deb 14 March 1951 vol 485 cc187-8W
Mr. Reeves

asked the Minister of Health how many eggs are used each week at the W.H.O. Laboratory, Mill Hill, in testing influenza and other viruses and vaccines; how many have been used during the last 12 months; and what is done with the eggs after they have been used.

Mr. Marquand

I understand that this laboratory is at present using about 120 eggs a week and has used 5,229 in the past 12 months. After use the residue is placed in strong disinfectant and treated as refuse.
