72. Surgeon Lieut.-Commander Bennettasked the Minister of Food by what authority his regional officer at Reading controverted summarily the medical certificate for additional eggs and fat, signed 167W on behalf of Mr. F. C. Holmes, 13. Aldus Road, Fareham.
§ Mr. WebbRegional food officers have no authority to grant extra rations except under the direction of the Minister of Food. On medical matters the Ministry of Food is advised by a Special Diets Advisory Committee of the Medical Research Council. Their advice on this case, upon which my decision was based, was that extra rationed food was not necessary for any of the conditions mentioned in the medical certificate.
