The approximate stocks of paper-making materials other than woodpulp held by the mills at the end of December, 1950, were:
Tons Pulpwood 35,500 Straw 2,400 Rags, waste ropes, etc. 26,400 Waste paper 38,700 Esparto 16,900
At the end of January, 1951, the corresponding figures were:
Tons Rags, waste ropes, etc. 23,500 Waste paper 37,600
January figures for the other items are not yet available.
