HC Deb 21 June 1951 vol 489 c65W
15. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has studied the memorandum which has been sent to him concerning Mrs. Davis who was convicted at the Berkshire Assizes on 5th May; and if he will take steps to have her sentence remitted in view of the details given to him of her previous good character.

Mr. Ede

I have considered the representations submitted to me about this case but can find no grounds which would justify me in recommending any interference with the sentence which the court thought fit to impose.
