HC Deb 21 June 1951 vol 489 c87W
Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty why air operations due to be carried out in Korean waters from H.M.S. "Glory" were cancelled.

Mr. Callaghan

H.M.S. "Glory" was withdrawn from her last spell of operations one day earlier than intended because the aviation fuel had become contaminated by corrosion from inside a rarely used pipe in the replenishment tanker. The corrosion was caused naturally and there is no suspicion of sabotage.
