HC Deb 21 June 1951 vol 489 cc68-9W
Brigadier Smyth

asked the Minister of Health if, in view of the shortage and cost of paper and the necessity of giving doctors more time to attend to the sick, he will take urgent steps to reduce the amount of form filling and clerical work generally which at present has to be carried out by the medical profession under the National Health Scheme.

Mr. Marquand

This work has already been reduced to a minimum. I am always ready to consider suggestions, but I doubt whether any further reduction is practicable.
