HC Deb 21 June 1951 vol 489 cc81-2W
104. Mrs. White

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he is conducting any inquiry into the law relating to arbitrary banishment or deportation in territories under his control on the lines of the inquiry being made by the Secretary of State for the Colonies.

Mr. Gordon-Walker

Since my right hon. Friend is reviewing similar provisions in the Colonial Empire there is no need to institute separate inquiries. I will, of course, study the results of my right hon. Friend's review and consider the possibility of applying to the territories for which I am responsible any alterations which may be adopted in the Colonies.
