HC Deb 04 June 1951 vol 488 c62W
58. Mr. J. Hynd

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps are being taken by His Majesty's Government to approach the other signatories of the Italian Peace Treaty under which Italy is being required to deliver strategic materials such as sulphur, mercury and motor-ships as reparations to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, with a view to the modification of those conditions.

Mr. Younger

There are no clauses in the Italian Peace Treaty requiring Italy to deliver strategic materials to the Soviet Government.
