HC Deb 30 July 1951 vol 491 c122W
Mr. Thornton-Kemsley

asked the Minister of Food what was the weekly average weight per head of rationed carcase meat, bone-in equivalent, issued by his Department in England, Scotland and Wales for each of the calendar years 1940–50, and for the first six months of 1951.

Mr. Webb

I regret that information in the form requested by the hon. Member is not readily available, but the attached table gives meat consumption levels for these years:

centage distribution of early arrivals of Argentinian chilled beef to wholesale meat supply associations for London, for the rest of England and Wales, and for Scotland, respectively.

Mr. Webb

I cannot yet add anything to the replies I gave to the hon. Member on 4th July, and to my hon. Friend the Member for Kirkdale (Mr. Keenan) on 30th May.
