§ 106. Mr. Peter Freeman,asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the relatives or executors of old age pensioners who wish to be cremated, have to complete a form which has to be signed by two doctors who may charge substantial fees for so doing; and, in view of the desirability of encouraging cremation, if he will introduce legislation to enable this certification to be provided free of charge to old age pensioners under the National Health Service.
§ Mr. BlenkinsopNo. The question of the fees charged for these certificates, which are in the nature of reports, is the subject of one of the recommendations in the Report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on the Cremation Regulations now under consideration by my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary.
