HC Deb 26 February 1951 vol 484 c254W
104. Mr. Nigel Davies

asked the Minister of National Insurance how many cases have arisen of people having to pay for new insurance stamps because fully stamped cards alleged to have been surrendered by them could not be found by her Department; and how many complaints of loss there have been which: have later been rectified by the finding of the cards by her Department.

Dr. Summerskill

The information is not available: but I can assure the hon. Member that a claim for an allowance for a lost card is not rejected without a most thorough investigation and it is quite exceptional for a card to be found by the Department after a claim has been, rejected.
