§ 38. Mr. Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what provision is made to enable African medical officers employed in Uganda to complete their training to qualify as doctors.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsAfricans holding the Makerere Diploma in Medicine are already eligible to be licensed as medical practitioners on entering the Uganda Government Service as assistant medical officers, and are accorded the title of "Doctor" in East Africa. It is the aim of the College so to improve and adapt its diploma course that the General Medical Council will admit holders of the diploma to the British Register without further qualification such as is required by them at present.
