§ 102. Sir H. Williamsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he has taken to give effect to the Act of Parliament to fix the date for Easter Day.
§ Mr. EdeWhile I can see great advantages in the fixing of Easter, there is no immediate prospect of agreement on this matter among the Christian Churches and until this is reached no Order in Council bringing the Easter Act, 1928, into force can be made. The position remains exactly as it was when the subject was last debated in this House on 25th March, 1948.
