asked the Minister of Supply when was the contract for £240,000 worth of shirts for the Royal Air Force placed with an Italian firm.

I am glad of this opportunity to correct and amplify the reply given to the hon. and gallant Member for Belfast, North (Lieut.-Colonel Hyde) on 26th November. The decision to place contracts for shirts in Europe was taken in June. The contracts with Italian firms were negotiated in September and October and were signed in November.
