HC Deb 04 December 1951 vol 494 cc231-2W
Mr. Edward Davies

asked the Minister of Labour what standards are laid down for the guidance of factory inspectors; and what apparatus is supplied to them to ensure that proper standards of factory lighting, ventilation, temperature and dust control are observed.

Sir W. Monckton

Standards have been prescribed in or under the Factory Acts for particular circumstances or classes of case. It is however not possible to prescribe standards applicable to all circumstances. The Factory Department is supplied for use by inspectors with the necessary apparatus for taking measurements or samples, details of which I am sending to the hon. Member.
