§ 100. Mr. G. R. Straussasked the Minister of Supply whether any conclusions have yet been reached in the negotiations with the United States authorities for the shipment of steel to this country; and if he can give details.
§ Mr. SandysThe United Kingdom has so far been authorised to place orders for 93,000 tons of ingots and has been allocated 25,000 tons of finished steel for the first quarter of 1952. This will be debited against the total tonnage of steel which the United Kingdom have asked for in 1952. Negotiations are continuing.
