HC Deb 03 December 1951 vol 494 c189W
66. Mr. Gibson

asked the hon. Member for Woolwich, West, as Chairman of the Kitchen Committee, whether, in view of the long Christmas Recess, he will take steps to ensure that the non-permanent staff under the control of the Kitchen Committee do not suffer the complete loss of earnings during the Recess.

Mr. Steward

The procedure regarding payment of wages to the staff of the Refreshment Department, during the forthcoming Recess will be the same as that which has been followed for the past six years.

Non-permanent staff are paid wages for the periods for which they are engaged and in accordance with the agreements entered into with them.
